GCP London User Group Inaugural Meeting

"Power matters" was one of the standout phrases from last night's inaugural GCP (Google Cloud Platform) London User Group meeting at Google HQ. And for the technology giant that is Google, power does indeed matter.

Amongst the many accolades that Google can be proud of is the power of the human mind behind the AI technology that enables developers, data scientists, architects and more to benefit from the many functions of machine learning.

James Cowe (Head of Professional Services ) opened up the evenings discussion with the statement “power matters” and went on to highlight the many ways that Google have successfully achieved high energy efficiency without compromising on power. Google is the largest corporate purchaser of renewable energy and have maintained the title of carbon neutral since 2007.

With International Girls in ICT Day vast approaching, it was very refreshing to have a female speaker on the panel. Barbara Fusinska, a Strategic Cloud Engineer Manager, delivered an engaging and informative presentation, offering insights into Cloud AutoML and the advanced technology that it relies on. The main takeaway from Barbara’s presentation was the vision from Google’s team to make AI more accessible through Cloud AutoML’s easy to use interface.

This was an excellent opportunity to network with industry members and learn from key players. If your organisation is considering adopting GCP then it would be really advantageous to connect with this community for intersecting insights on the challenges and opportunities and stay informed of new and upcoming products.
